cam tests
BluesMaster what other mods do you have to go along with those 264's. If I run 19-20psi will I need to upgrade my fuel system. Also, will I notice an improvement in performance with the cams without having boost at 22psi and upgraded fuel system.
Thanks
Thanks
SAEVO,
Here are most of my mods:
GReddy eManage Package for EVO (unit, support tool and ign/inj harnesses)
GReddy Profec Spec ll electronic boost controller/type S BOV
RMR Mas pipe and intercooler pipe set
RMR carbon fiber CAI scoop
HKS suction intake filter
SLP custom 3" turboback exhaust w/ racing cat and O2 housing
Jet hot coated DNP exhaust manifold header
Perrin fuel rail and short shifter
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Pruven fuel pressure regulator and guage
Ultimate Racing 785 cc injectors
HKS 264/264 cams/cam gears
ARP head studs
Sun hyperground wire set
AVO bar and plate frntmount intercooler -----
Since you live in Texas you probably won't experience fuel cut due to cooler weather as much as we do up north. 264 cams work best if you are keeping stock turbo. You feel the cams at higher rpm's. It's the combination of the fmic, piping and cams that creates the fuel cut along with cool air. The cams alone won't cause the problem, but you won't get the full benefit of them without higher boost so do the head studs at the same time. Cams alone 15whp. Larger fmic/cams/boost 35-45 whp. I wouldn't do cams alone, it's lots of $ for not much increase, especially at 19-20psi. You don't need to upgrade fuel system or injectors, I did this because I want to be set up for larger turbo. Dynoflash can eliminate boost cut, fuel cut, and raise rev limit for $225+ shipping. That's a lot cheaper than fuel system upgrades. However, the best mod is an experienced tuner with a wideband. I'm fortunate to have Mark Myers at Quantum. When the car is properly tuned, it really flies. The parts alone don't come close without the tuner. Using stock fuel maps of other guys isn't safe. My car was dangerously lean using what I thought were conservative settings.

thanks for the info, I am trying to find my next step in upgrading. I have 3" turbo back with high flow cat, SAFCII, upper I/C pipe, 1G BOV, MAF pipe, BR filter, and MBC (this is the Buschur stage 1 and 2 along with the boost guage and mini battery). I guess I will go with FMIC and 264's next along with some light 17's.

Think i can go for a ride sometime?
I wanna see if that will be enough for me
By next spring i think i will try to have cams, boost control, and a front mount.
By the way, the the short shifter is awesome along with that greddy shift knob.
Im getting E manage this weekend. I gotta put the STI in my dust.

take care in who you affiliate with...
Mark at Quantum,
Do you really want to use someone who alienates alot of people and generally acts like a jerk as an example or someone to sponsor .... ie "Al". He may have some knowledge to pass on but it is simply cancelled out by attitude and know it all syndrome.
I cannot think of anyone who would cause me to "just say no" to buying product from them than this person... We might want to consider the example we set in sponsoring such people and the negative effect on the business... my 2 cents.

I have not been to a dyno and have not been to the track with these mods. All I can say is butt dyno #'s and my guess would be in the 70-80WHP gain. I have done tons of mods to different cars so I know more or less. I will try and get some dyno #'s so I can tune it perfectly and see how much I am putting down. Sorry, for not being much help.
