Lifters help

So i was having issues with my car above 5000 rpm like it would hesitate. come to find out i had solid lifters in my car from previous owner and one of my rocker was just chillin in the top end not even installed. Guess you have to adjust the solid lifters every so ofter to prevent that. it ran perfectly fine under 5000 rpm just over i would get that hesitation. just wondering what kind of damage that can cause because i know one of my valve wasn't fully opening. i havent drove it much like this maybe 400 miles because our initial taught was the exhauST manifold might be cracked. i did a compression test and got 150 all around +/- 10. should i be fine if i install hydraulic lifters or has anyone had this problem before and can help me out. thanks peeps
