if you are considering something like the k29, read a few pages back and check out the S400SX - much better turbine wheel, center sections and housing selection. the k29 looks cool, but has some older aero on it, not the best choice compared to the SX series

Same info made us decide to use the s400 over the K29. we should have the kit back from coating next week. should get interesting when we try this 1.10 housing then the 1.25. BTW Geoff i have every intention of picking one up from you

I'm currently in the air about the 84-75 and the 88-75. This will be ran on a 2JZ SC300. Probably spend a year in the 20psi range, but eventually want to be running in the 30-35psi range the following year. Once I'm in the 30's, I'm hoping to be able to hit 650-700hp, while still having somewhat decent spool characteristics.

Any advice you might be able to offer on a 2JZ platform? I sent a couple emails, but have got what I feel to be "text book" replies back (under 20psi use .91, over 20psi use 1.0), but these graphs seem to contradict that. I'm set on either one of these turbos (leaning towards the 84 however), but I'm still unsure of what AR to run. I see that the .91AR made a great improvement on that Subaru, but since I'm on a slightly larger motor, kind of curious if you think the .91 will actually be a hinderence in my case.

Thanks for all your info you've shared, it's been so helpful!!

Also, could you explain to me why your 3" v-band welded on flange is better than the OEM one? Is it just an oddball size, or is it because it sticks out so far? And last questions are if the 84-75 has the v-band comp housing attachment method to the center section, and is the 84 compressor wheel the same wheel as the 83?

I'll be looking to pick one of these up shortly I hope!

I will keep you guys posted, but it looks like this would shave a bunch of cost off the turbo this way and its the identical wheels either way.
Geoff, which way did they go on this?

I only read through the first few pages...

What are the options for an S362 (I understand it's BEP, no BW/AW, but yeah...) turbine housing wise (t3)? I have a setup with an .70 and I think it may be a little choked up top - built 2.0 - revving to 9k. I'm getting an Magnus V5 and redoing some stuff now, but I'm still interested to know if there are some other T3 options (v-band outlet)... Thanks!

P.S. I did see Steve's car earlier in the thread with what I think he said was an .88 A/R? I can't find it anywhere though.

If you want a T3 undivided turbo - the Borgwarner EFR series is coming. These are the 2011 BW turbos, and I believe will redefine what people consider a "high end turbocharger".

these will be available in undivided and twinscroll versions, with some mind blowing features

Geoff I have a buddy that will be looking for a twin scroll setup to make ~400/450hp on his E36M3.

He's currently looking at a T3 Twin scroll 3076... he wants retarded respnse for auto-x setups.

do you have any 2011 models that you think will fit the bill really well?

If you feel its choked up, I understand. The T3 .70 a/r is too small for your goal. You should consider switching to the T4 version.

It may have ultra quick response, but wont make power well. If you keep the engine/turbo in the proper operating speeds, you will have great response.

He really is sweating response over power. IIRC he was hoping for a conservative 400whp on a DJ. His ideals are different than mine... and that's fine. I htink he would rather choke a turbo than have lag.

Seems like the E36 M3 would have aggressive enough cams that a small turbo would hurt you every where?

I would go with hta3076 t4 1.06 TS housing...with 3.0 or 3.2 litre engine this setup would be insane....
