JIC - Hayabusa - Apexi...
I am going to be ordering an exhaust - DP - Cat Delete ... All within the next week and half... But i keep bogging between the JIC ti - or exploring other options...
Personally i feel that the JIC is one very nice unit... But i would like to see more pics or cars with the hayabusa exhaust... I then go to the boost solution website and come across the following:
QUOTE:
Apexi R-95 Catback section -stainless steel, for Evo7
- THE BIGGEST EXHAUST FOR YOUR EVO - 95mm (3.75")
- On a stock Evo, the catback gained 36whp ( with a stock cat)
- A silencer is included with both exhausts
Personally i feel i owe it to myself to ask for more information, because i would like to do everything once this time, and not go back and forth like i did with my last car...
I know that bigger piping isn't always better, but i would like to hear some more about the Hayabusa or the R-95 catback - screw sound clips...
Quality - Gains - How it sits on the cars...

To my knowledge - JIC quality is very nice... Flaws consist of the muffler pipes hitting the floor because of poorly designed hangers... Pros consist of gains 13 to the WHP... Nice throaty sound which i like...
But what's going on with these two other catbacks, that have been barely mentioned...

on a force fed car, increased exhaust diameter can never be bad. On the other hand, there is a such thing as overkill. 3.75" will show better gains over a 3" system, especially if you're planning for a 600hp buildup, but in the reality of street cars, there is no sense in making the 0.75" jump. If there was such a huge gain from this from a normal (300-450HP) street car, then every company would be producing exhausts this large. I know someonewith a 1200HP drag mustang running a 5" pipe, but this is running a T80 (?), and a motor which is rebuilt every 3 runs.
Lets get serious though, you are most likely not going to see that much power coming from your car. I am going to assume that you are not going to spend $50,000 on your setup. If you are going for a truly streetable setup, you will probablly be fine with a 2.75"-3" exhaust. But if you are literally going ***** out on your car, you will most likely end up making your own exhaust setup... The 3.75" just does not make sense to me, but hey, i just work here.
EDIT.
Let me just tell you that because i am a newbie on this forum, i am no stranger to performance. I, with the help of a friend, fabricated a turbo setup that was totally one off for my last car, a 2000 vw gti VR6. With the 2.8L, I chose a 3" diameter exhaust, and it was more than up to the duties i put it to. No track days, monster dyno shootouts, no BS, just spirited driving, and highway runs.

Well i appreciate your comments, and yes they make perfect sense... Overall the only reasons why i am still thinking about this is because even though we have the EXHAUST THREAD...
I am really speaking on a more narrow margin, - personally, i do want to make it to 500 or a more... Nothing more than 650 unless the set up is that crazy...
I am just caught in the cross hairs, because i would like to see some more pics or actual expriences with the other exhaust other than the JIC... Which is my number one choice...

this may not matter to you because you have your mind set on a few brands right now, but i have not been able to take my eyes off the RMR turbo back ever since i was in a car with one. The sound and power of the car with that exhaust is why I have an EVO in my driveway... well, just one of the reasons.
i have a RMR turboback with a perrin cat-delete and it sounds menacing specially at wot. but one of the drawback of running catless is the stain from the exhaust but comes easily when you wash the car. i like the hayabusa also but i think that doesnt come with the o2 bung so you still have to get it welded on as with the apexi also.with the jic the usspec comes with the o2 bung with it.so happy searching

You already know my story so I won't say much.
I have no experience with the Hayabusa or Apex'i, but the HKS Hi-Power exhaust is definitely a good buy. A lot better than the JIC I had before. It hasn't fallen off.

I guess for discussion purposes a lil more insight on these other two options might work...
ok i have tried both the exhaust system, personally I felt that the R95 has better mid to high output, whereas the Hayabusa is better for low to mid output. I would say both is equally loud, but R95 sounds fiercer. I am now using the HKS Hi-Power, this exhaust is much much quieter. If you want balance of power, I would go for the HKS Hi-Power or Apexi N1, but for all out performance and not worry about loud, then go for the R95. The reason why I changed R95 is because one moron hit my car and damage the exhaust
. The R95 sits really low as it has a big square flange joining to the muffler. Ok hope this help.
