oil pump questions

ive researched with not alot clear and im interested to see other peoples views,

im about to assemble my new engine when pistons finally arive

people who have done the own rebuilds on this site what are you doing when it comes to oil pump on a fresh rebuild

are you
a checking it and within spec put it on

b just replacing the two gear if the front and rear covers/housings are fine?

c replacing the lot (gears front and rear covers)

in my last rebuild i replaced the lot, front cover, rear cover, gears the lot
im just interested to see what other people do,

i was just going to replace the lot again but a few i spoke to have different views on this. specking to a guy who was involved in the orginal set up the car come with he said that they check it and was within spec so they banged it on,

another said anything over 300kw buggers oil pumps and change it in 5000kms

and finally one said just do the gears,

ive spent bit of time on over seas sites but nothing to out in the open what people do

so what you guys do when comes to oil pumps with a full rebuild

appreciate your help

might as well just rebuild your engine every 5000kms then too, just to be safe...

When you guys say the pump, are you talking about just the pump with the gears in it or are you talking about the whole front case assembly?

I mean my front case looks like it's untouched...don't see the point in spending $200 just for that.
