the ac condensers are tough in that size... the other issue is we'd have to machine blocks to adapt lines...

im working on solutions for that,

as far as the half width, I would supply a new thermostat housing top with a -16 AN fitting welded onto it, and I could supply that hose also...

the lower could remain stock, and be pulled ENTIRELY over to the driver's side like our time attack car..

keep the thoughts coming,

VW jeff, id love to get one on your car

ok, i have two options....

one, a single pass 2" thick core, but the tanks will be almost 3".... if that doesnt matter, i can do that..

the other more AWESOME setup would be a double pass, which would put the fittings all the way to the driver's side... meaning, your upper and lower rad hoses would both be all the way at the driver's side end of the radiator.

give me some feedback guys, and ill get one together next week!

The double pass would be perfect with all AN fittings

CBRD, is it possible that your half width rad with one fan can cool better than a stock radiator with two fans?

i would offer the rad with a -16 hose from the thermostat housing (which we will supply) to the tank, then the other fitting for the lower hose would be an option depending on what each client wanted...

CB

would you guys want a premounted fan? high cfm? with a nice aluminum shroud?

doubtful,

i think we can match stock radiator efficiency with one fan.... especially mounted properly using a high density core..

the issue is this, its GOING to cost more than the current honda rads... why? because we will be building it SPECIFICALLY for you guys, and it wont be a rad that 50 companies make...

if it's worth us doing, i WILL build them...

aluminum shroud would be nice, either a pre-mounted fan or a cfm would be fine by me, w/e you think will work the best

My problem is I have VI RS which has a support bar just in front of the radiator, so I can't run a fan on the front of the radiator. This means I can only run one rad fan. I'm in 30c weather, and if I let my car idle in the sun coolant temps rise and rise. I'm thinking a well designed half rad might improve my situation because I don't have half a radiator sitting there getting heatsoaked by my header without a fan.

What price range are we looking at for your half rad?

I understand,

I can always build you whatever you need, 3/4 width etc...

send me an email with the size you have to work with.

it will be about half the weight lol! its half the rad..

through design work, i think the double pass in the core density we would need to use would offer to much resistance on the system...

so i think single pass may be the way to go..

i will incorporate a heatshield with foil on it, that attaches to the core closest to the turbo to reduce heat soak.

i should have something early this week to run by you guys
