stp engine oil treatment?

would anyone advise against using something like STP's engine stop leak? its an oil additive thats supposed to stop your car from smoking so much by rejuvenating seals and such. wondering if anyones used this and if it helps out much if any at all?

120k in my EVO. Never used any additives. Carol Shelby likes Zmax though

Don't use any oil additives. Oil manufacturers put a lot of care into their additive packages and you don't want to dilute those with some unknown substance. If you're worried about your engine being higher mileage use one of the higher mileage engine oil formulations.

It's not bad, but it really does not fix the majority of real problems (e.g. broken rings, blown turbos, head gasket issues, etc...).

If your car is smoking, it would be best to determine why and then address accordingly.
