Mechanical t-case?

Hi!

When I bought my Evo 2.5 years back I used it for city driving mostly, now the need has changed for a more country and highway use. I was just about to trade it for a Skyline GT-R, but changed my mind and thinking about "highway modify" the Evo instead. (Lower rpms, and have something that last 100k+ miles)

Is there a Mechanical t-case that lasts, which is sold with the "open" diff the early Evos and JDM/Eurospec Evos has? And perhaps even with a 4.111 final drive?

My problem is that I think the Evo revs too much in 65-80 mph, and I don't like the LSD diff in front. It's great for drag, but I use it for tight corners and powerslides. I've already had the death whine once and won't get another of them if this one breaks down.

Any little suggestion and experience with 4.111 ratio on street car would be great!

Thanks guys!!

/Best regards, Andy

There is a 4.11 final drive available for the evo. Any of the major transmission shops offer them. I believe HKS produces one as well but don't take my word for it.
