Radiator hose kit comparison question

Hey,

Looking soon possibly to upgrade the radiator and hoses in the car. But so many different prices for what I'd assume are the same silicone kits... in particular

The mishimoto kit, samco kit, perrin kit and the cheaper gates blue rubber hose.

What is the major differences between them other than price as they all seem the same (well other than the gates) to me...

Has anyone had problems with their mishimoto/ samco/ perrin hoses with leaks etc?

and do you have to get different hose clamps for them or can you use the stock types back?

7 month old thread, but i've got the same question. I understand that these may have a different number of layers, but as MISHI inquired, has anyone had any problems with any of them?

I have the Samco upper and lower hoses. I like the quality and fit. Never had a leak. I can't speak for the other brands.

Does anyone have all the samco hose kits installed? I believe there are 2:

Intercooler Hose Kit:
http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

Radiator Hose Kit:
http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

Haven't been able to find a picture of an engine bay with both kits installed. Interested in getting both, just want to get a sense of how they look and the difficulty of installation.

Thanks

Eric

have the samco hose kit, now im runnin stock hose clamps, your best bet if you buy the radiator hose kit is to get the worm style clamps instead they hold better out longer then the pinch style clips

How long would you estimate the install to take? Thinking about doing it just want to gauge the downtime.

Thanks

Eric

Install is quick. Just drain the radiator and install the new hoses. Less than 30 minutes assuming you know what you are doing.

Someone asked for pics of the rad + IC hose kit.

I personally would not buy a hard pipe kit for the upper hose. The pipe itself may be indestructable, but you are adding places for failure with the two couplers and extra clamps.

Gates makes very high quality products, and the hose is very flexible, which is needed as the top of the engine moves the most.

to be honest man im not expert but i did go to school for it, i had my old stock radiator out, drained new hoses and radiator reinstalled with car running in about an hour, i was taken my time too. It really isnt difficult just make sure that u drain the coolant fully before adding radiator hoses. Youll thank me later haha. But for the most part a hose is a hose theyll all last about as long. Theres no real benefit between those and stockers most are either 2 ply or 4 ply rubber hose if I remember right.

It's a custom piece made by Forge Motorsport. They basically took the HKS Kansai and improved on it. Added dzeus fasteners instead of screws. Larger snorkel etc.
