Royal Purple use in tranny/rear diff.?

What grade Royal Purple do you use if your going to use it in the tranny/tranfercase, and rear diff?

Also has anyone had any luck with this route as far as the notchy feel of the shifter going away after putting this stuff in?

Thanks

Well at the moment I am still contemplating on using Royal purple. But when I do, I pass the word.

yes you are correct, 75W/90

I have it on my 7 and will not use anything else.
Mobil 1 for the engine, Royal Purple fot the drivetrain.

That's the winning combo

I think the Tranny itself uses GL-4 rated and the Transfer and Diff uses GL-5.

Got mine done the other day, and it is still very notchy. Royal Purple gl-5 throuhout. It even feels a little more notchy.

Is the red line a gl-4 for the tranny? Maybe the royal purple is too slippery?

Redline MT90 is GL-4, Redline 75w90 is GL-5.

I think the Tranny needs GL4 for more friction due to the fact that its an AWD car. Don't quote me though...just don't feel like doing a search right now. It has been stated numerous times however here on the forums to use GL-4 on the Transmission and GL-5 on the Transfer and Diff.

I don't have a shop manual, but does anyone know the EXACT quantity of oil used for all 3 in the drivetrain?

GL-4 For more friction for the syncors. (I know spelling)
