Question Boost Drop after Turbo Back exhaust

I just installed a B&B Turboback exhaust, but kept the factory cat on (for now). I did not have a single problem with fitment, or the gaskets they used. I love the look, and the sound is exactly how I wanted it, not to loud but noticeable at WOT.

My question is: Is it normal for the car to actually lose a bit of boost? I was seeing almost 19 at redline stock, and now its tapering to about 1.2 bar. The car does feel faster! Do i really need to reset the ECU per instructions?

TIA..

you're supposed to reset the ecu after installing their exhaust? Does disconnecting the battery accomplish this?

Yes it does. Its also a good idea to step on the break for 10secs. or so to drain any remaining juice outta the system. The ECU should be reset after that.

When I installed my Vishnu TB I noticed a bit of a boost drop for the first day or so also. Once the ECU optimized itself again boost would peak 1 or 2 PSI higher than stock and seemed like it would not taper as bad. I did replace to 02 housing too, so that may have something to do with it.

Resetting the ecu will not effect the boost - its a open loop system

I suggest a MBC or EBC and / or a boost controlling reflash like our stage rev - you will not get higher boost but it will stay steady to red line instead of falling off with our reflash
