Question Which Retainers for the Valve Springs?

Hi All,

Im installing on my Evo 9 along with my HKS cams, HKS Valave Springs. Now we came to a point while instaling that the original retainers will be not suitable for the HKS Valve Springs.

Now which retainers should i use to go with those HKS valave spriings? Someone was telling me to use the Evo 6 retainers!!

Would appreciate your reply...

Usually a set of valve springs that are designed for a specific engine will
A) come with retainers
B) use the stock retainers

So you need to ask who you bought it from what is going on.

I realize you already bought them i guess but honestly id suggest supertech springs and retainers. I havent seen many or even one that i can think of off the top of my head that use hks springs.

BUT if you stick with the HKS..

I did some looking around on dsm forums and google..the HKS springs are suppose to work with stock retainers. Might want to double check fitments

Thanks guys for the reply and really appreciated

The HKS springs comes without retainers and the stock one are too small for it!!

I took one of my friend advice and bought the Evo 6 stock retainers from the dealer and guess what? IT WORKS and it fits the HKS spring

I will see how my car will drive and let you know also guys
