My Kelford 272 install

Hi guys , just wanted to let you know I installed the kelford 272's last Saturday.

The info on this site is great. Install, video, etc.

I wanted you to also know that due to time, I had to jam it all back together.

I did not bleed the lifters......

What I did instead was to slowly rotate the engine over 5 times. Really just to check timing.

I figure if my lifters are going to make noise,I'll change them. They never did..

I just wanted you guys to know how I did it, Maybe I just got lucky??

So you start the motor up and it runs normal? I highly recommend bleeding the lifters rather than buying whole new sets. Did you by chance replace your springs and retainers due to the Kelford Cams?

You really only have to bleed the lifters if the base circle of the new set of cams is the EXACT same as the previous set. I wouldn't risk it. Bleed them. Takes an extra 30 minutes. If not they'll be auto adjusted to the previous set and will hang open a tad when they're supposed to be closed.

Runs normal, just have to flash for idle.

Spring and retainers, I'm saving up for...
I'm an older guy who doesn't go past 6,000RPM much....

If your engine has 190K miles and is running stock spring & retainer on the Kelford, I would maybe be a lil scared, regardless of not going above 6Krpm that much.

If you didnt wanna change springs and retainers, you should have went with a HKS 272s or280s or something.
