Any word on FP Black up grade for a Evo 9 turbo??

Like the title says. Has FP said anything if they are going to do Evo 9 turbo upgrade to a Black? I really do wish they will. I have a Evo 9 turbo sitting here, but I am waiting for the green light for the upgrade to a FP Black.

Can FP chime in Please and give us some insite.

I didnt think they could convert the 9 turbo because the black uses a 80mm inlet housing. I have a red and at some point will go to the black. but for now ill gets some time on the red.

The stock compressor housing is replaced with an fp custom designed and built housing. I also thought that I had read somewhere that the black comes with an 84mm inlet on the housing? (don't quote me on this, as I can't seem to find the reference again)

Again, give fp a call, they will be more than happy to answer your questions.

the 80mm and 84mm housing is one and the same. its always been called 80mm. actual is 84mm. red and black use the same housing.

Thanks guys, I thought I had read somewhere that the new compressor inlet was 84mm, I just couldn't find the thread.

There have been 80mm and 84mm OD inlet variants with matching inlet tubes. There will no longer be any 80mm inlet stuff available.

i know for a fact they are upgrading fp reds to blacks . Mine is done. now from a base 9 turbo thats going to be kind of on the expensive side. its already 1099 to just convert to red from base 9 hmm sound kind of pricey.

I got a quote today of $1100 for upgrading a ix core to a Black. Turnaround was estimated at 2-3 weeks.

I knew it was going to be ruffly in that price range. Their was another post some where I even said it would be 1100 or so to do a 9 to a black.

Im suprised so many people are interestd in changing their Red's to Black's, as opposed to selling them with a ix core required in the deal.

Its much easier and smarter to sell a Red and pick up a 9 rather than convert a Red to a Black. Why waste good machine work and materials!
