Weird the EVO rear end is VERY stout. You must have been spinning the living crap out of one wheel some how. Or wrong fluid, or low on fluid. If you're finding teeth, you're diff is a ticking time bomb. Stop driving it, pull the cover off and inspect the ring and pinion. Prey TRE has parts for cheap because a new rear end is retared expensive. Even used you're looking at a grand or more.

This is very common with the Evo Diff. The oem clutch plates sucks.. I've seen a few Evo do this and the diff looses its locking abilities. We think it's happens from launching the car. I would get the TRE mod. Talk about a huge improvement and it’s so cheap to do.

Check out the website.. It has all the info you need.

The adjustment of ring & pinion for high torque applications and all new friction plates is what make it so amazing.

EVO 8 MR and onward have stronger/better rear diff for AYC
EVO 7 diff can bolt up but it should be weaker

If you are looking for an Evo VIII AYC Diff I have one from my JDM Evo VIII.

Has 112k kms on it, original not been replaced came with the car in 2003.

Runs and works no issues or hiccups, just replacing it with non ayc/non acd due to pushing 650+whp.
