Ideal CCA's for a mini battery?

So, my car is at a friend's house right now being stored while I'm in NYC for an unforseeable amount of time. My car has a mini battery kit that came with it when I bought it 18 months ago. The car can't start without a battery charger being hooked up, so I'm just assuming that the mini battery has finally croaked.

My friend is very knowledgable, and says that the CCA's aren't printed anywhere on the battery so I have no idea what size battery to order and have sent to his house. ANOTHER friend is a battery dealer, and has mini batteries at his place, and asked for the CCA's so he can give me the right one, but I have no answer for him.

Anyone have a good answer I can forward on to the guy, and get a new battery in there?

If you already have a mini battery kit. A different battery won't fit the tray most likely. So you need to find the same battery or close to it. Why don't you just order the exact same battery or a replica of it. I'm sure there should be some kind of indication of the model on it.

As far as cca's go it really matters where you live cause the cca's is what the battery puts out at freezing temps. Where it will actually crank much higher in warmer temps. So if you live in colder weather proper cca's is a must. Me in south Texas I can get away with a small battery that might not start the car in 20 degree weather.

well if he's able to use 425CCA's in IL, our winters in Southern Ohio aren't any worse.... so I'm going to assume that that'd work?

In the 240 here in NYC, I have a mini battery that puts out 420 CCA. I have not yet had a problem this winter even if I have not started the car in 2-3 days. It has a the stock 2.4 litre engine with 9.5:1 static compression.

Good source for all types of batteries including off-brand copies of the real name brands at a fraction of the cost.
