Optima Mini Battery
I've been doing a lot of reading and seaching about the mini battery kits. I really like Buschur Racing's mini battery mounting kit. Does anyone have any info about the specs of their battery (CCA, amp hours, and dimensions). The reason being is that I want to use an Optima Red Top battery, if compatible and a mini battery kit that mounts the same way as the Buschur Racing's battery kit. Here is the link to all of Optima's batteries http://www.1st-optima-batteries.com/ for their specs.
Hope someone can help out. Thanks.

I,m using the Optima Group 51 Honda deep cycle battery. I made a sealed and vented aluminum box for the trunk and ran 1/0 awg wire. I would recomend the yellow top because with the smaller battery you are more likely to run it down and it will recover better than the red top.

I wouldn't consider the Optima series to fall under the mini-battery category. Optima batteries weigh as much as stock or more, depending on their output specs. They most likely will not be able to be mounted sideways, either.
I have an Optima Red Top in my Eclipse, but it is used for running a high end car audio system.
The mini-battery kits used on Evo's are made to accomplish 2 main goals:
1) Weight savings (mini-batt's weight from 11-14lbs; compared to stock 35-37lbs)
2) Make room in engine bay, mostly to run the shortest UICP possible...
Hope this helps...

^^^ forgot to add the most commly used mini-batterys for our Evos are:
Odyssey PC680 (I believe this is what Buschur sells) and PC680mj (metal jacket encased for high temperatures) - ??? CCA
Braille Lightweight (11.5lbs with 360 CCA) - stock CCA is 520; these get the job done, though...
Deka ETX14 (generic version of Braille - less $$- same battery, different sticker)

Thanks for you help mudduck. I was thinking about the Braille CF mini battery kit but its a little too much just for a CF battery. After careful consideration, I think that I'm going to go with either the Nisei or Buschur mini battery kit.

Thanks but I want to go with a kit that has the battery facing or mounted toward the fender.
What piping kit is that you have installed?

Not quite - the engine bay pic on this thread is running a Deka AGM (fits a Miata?); there is a smaller, lighter version (Deka ETX14) that is the generic version of the Braille lightweight for our cars - these only weigh like 11lbs, so you are looking at around a 25lb savings...
