Attn: ETS LP2 mild steep pipe owners

I just recently purchased a used ETS LP2 from a member and I unfortunately received the pipe with rust inside it. I was told that this pipe was the earlier one made from mild steel which would rust. SO what do you guys do to get rid of the rust and keep it off ? I've been told to clean it off with a mesh sponge and spray paint the inside black , any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated

Contact ETS. They're exchanging the mild steel pipes + $70 for a new stainless steel version.

Michael@ETS is a great guy to work with so I'm sure he'll take care of you if you give them a little something in return.

You should not paint the inside of your pipes. If the coating / paint comes off, it will just clog your IC or if on the other side get into your combustion chamber...

A thermal coating would be fine. If they can coat the combustion chambers of a head, I do not think a lower ic pipe is going to have issues.

I was in the same situation, but I wasn't told up front mine was mild steel, which is probably why the guy was selling. About a month or two after I bought it came the big blowup about people's pipes rusting. Thankfully, mine still showed no signs of rust when I took it off a couple months ago for a Nisei LICP, but I prefer to play it safe. I think I might have a friend powder coat it when I get a set of wheels done and either keep it as a spare or sell it.
