mostlikely it can hold more, jsut not very well. It may leek, i'd believe that the type S can hold in the neighborhood of 15-16 psi. If your looking for greddy and something that can hold highe boost then the type R is what you'd want, however the outlet is bigger then that of the type S. I'm not sure if it's possible to change out the spring on the type S, if it is then that would help solve the boost problem.

The Greddy type-S will not leak, it will hold more boost than you could ever make with the stock turbo. There is a big post at the top of this forum call "BOV testing it really works" if you want to know more. I use the Greddy type-S and trust me it works just fine at well over 20 PSI.
The type-R is not needed for leaking at WOT with high boost, it is larger for flowing more air. If your using a really big turbo with high boost, you need a larger valve to properly vent the turbo air and prevent surge. The stock turbo does not need the type-R, plus it wont fit in the stock location.

Thats what i thought. I'm glad that a lot of people have had good experiences with the type-s because thats what i plan on getting.
