what is the difference btn FP white and white Rabbit?

I know this might sound like an old turbo or something, but I just bought an EVO8 RS 2004 model, and I am new to this.
last week was the first time I hear about White Rabbit, then I found one for sale in the classified section and I paypal the money 2days ago, someone asked if this was an FP white or a White Rabbit, coz the thread title was FP White Rabbit, so what is the difference btn the FP white turbo and the White Rabbit Turbo, also do you guys know how much do these flow in cfm?

PEACE

I know its tiny, but for $300 with a claimed 10,000miles on it I think it would be considered as a bargain, at least it is for me, I can't even find a stock EVO9 used turbo for that price, I am planning to use the car daily, and weekends with my family (wife and daughters) so basically a stock EVO8 tuned would be just fine with me :-), any cfm #s for the white rabbit?

white rabbit was a stock 8 turbo with 5 blade evo green compressor wheel.
evo white is an evo 9 turbo with 7 blade HTA68 compressor wheel.
both compressor wheels flow about 10% more than stock.
stock 43lb/mn
white 47lb/mn

Well that is a hell of a deal. I don't think it flows much more than the 9 turbo, but can't beat that price. I think the real advantage is the added spool/response

If this is the turbo we're talking about...

The FP WHITE™ turbocharger for the Mitsubishi Evolution features the 68mm HTA™ compressor section coupled to the TD05H 10.5cm2 turbine section. This combo produces the fastest spool and transient response possible in a EVO9 based turbocharger. The 68mm HTA™ compressor increases max flow by 10% over the stock EVO9 compressor wheel without sacrificing any spool.

Edit: 94AWD explained it above. Thanks.

ok I checked the online photo in the classified section and it has 5blades compressor housing part # 49378-01560 TD05HR-16G6 10.5T, so its the white rabbit, not the fp white, which I guess is just fine for $300, the FP white would have a faster spool I guess similar to the BBK lite, if the white rabbit have the same performance of the stock EVo9 turbo I would be a happy man, I need to ask this though, the turbine wheel is different between the 9.8T and the 10.5T?? or I just can swap the turbine housing to replace a 9.8T with a 10.5T?

you are better off just getting a stock 9 turbo and porting it. Many Many people have made more power on a stock 9 than with a FP white. I would constently pound on a guy here that had an FP white when I had an unported 9 turbo. Hit an HUGE miss with the White turbos. If you search you will find a dyno sheet that shows the 9 turbo vs. the FP white..the 9 made more power.

From what I remember, the White Rabbit was basically a 20g version of the TME turbo. A buddy of mine still has one, makes 470whp and spools about the same as a stock 9 turbo. It definitely out spooled my old Green setup.

Basically I am looking at the situation like this, I can upgrade the stock EVO8 turbo for $300, I searched everywhere for a stock EVO9 turbo but found none, and when I found something it was being offered for $500, so basically if the white Rabbit is an upgrade for the EVO8 stock turbo, it is just fine with me.

for $300 that will be a nice upgrade. If i was going to go through the process of installing a new turbo, id rather start with an evo9 turbo.

The white rabbit is probably a great setup for auto-x and street driving where the top end is not that important, but response is.

check fp's site for flow charts.

Thanks for the info, here's my current situation. A friend gave me his used 10.5 VIII turbo. I have some choices:

1) source a USED IX turbo: for $400-$500,(+ shipping 1 way) they seem to go pretty fast once they are posted. A big point with me is that you're putting your trust as to what condition the turbo is in and what life it has left in it with in the seller (stranger). Also, having the option to build it into a BBK or FP variant is a plus, and I can always just try to sell the spare 10.5's turbos to offset the price.

2) rebuild the 10.5 VIII with a 20g: for $275. (+shipping each way) A fresh rebuild. Yes not the highest potential HP of a stock IX, but I think there is some security in knowing that it's professionally rebuilt.

My VIII (with stock VIII 10.5) is used as my DD, 58k miles, with basic mods (tbe, mbc, 272s, fmic/pipes) for a fun commute everyday. I'm not looking to break records, but if some inexpensive HP can be gained, with a simple stock turbo swap, I'm down.

Help me decide? Should I keep grinding away and looking for a used IX, hoping it's going to work nicely, and have the option to rebuild in the future or just professionally freshly rebuild this spare 10.5 VIII for cheaper now?
