Thanks for all the input. I was looking at all the parts needed to make the 5spd swap and its a lot more than i thought. On top of the fact that i still wanna get my 5spd built. I really would like to spare myself from picking up the pieces but i might as well take the chance. Anyone know what a blown 6spd goes for anyhow? maybe $300-500?

In my opinion it all depends on the power and abuse. I was making 487whp on a DynoJet and had a few track days with it. I broke the 3rd-4th shifter fork in half, and toasted a couple of syncros. I would have a good clutch setup with it too. I think my clutch wasn't fully disengaging which caused the premature syncro wear.

I am definitely interested in seeing how the new gear set turns out since I'm still in the decision making process for staying with the 6sp or changing to the 5sp when the transmission finally crumps from road courses. With a cooler, hopefully I'll have another two years out of the thing....

This gear set is our only hope and it will be well worth the wait if it holds up. Is it a straight tooth design?
