Question IX acting funny during cold start ups

This morning I started up my IX and after 5-10 seconds I gave it a little gas and it did something it has never done before. It was @ 2500 rpm and when I gave it some gas the rpm's dropped quickly to 600-800 rpm and it felt like it was about to shut off, also when it did that the sound changed....it sounded like how aggresive cams sound like. The lopey type sound. This went on for about 5 seconds then the rpm's went back up and the sound was normal again, I didn't try to rev it again and just let it warm up fully and drove off to work. It drove fine and felt great all day. I'm still on the stock cams and turbo my only mods are HKS carbon-ti, Megan DP & TP, ETS 3.5'' FMIC, ETS intake, ETS LICP & UICP, dejon MBC, walbro pump, and ACT clutch & flywheel. Any ideas whats going on? This has never happened before when I rev up in the mornings.

your in CA, how cold was it? could have been in warm-up mode to fire the cats (yea yea, you dont have them, but the ECU thinks you do) which is like racing a big-wheel. IE lots of noise and clatter, not much "go".

My car is doing the same thing as well. It happened out of the blue too. Now it runs like that even when warmed up. Note that I do have cams, but the car idled like stock before, now it's very rough, almost sounds like a Subaru.

AEM ECU. Took it to the tuner last night. We'll see if he can find anything. I'm not convinced it's a tune issue though because the car ran fine on the current tune then all of the sudden started idling like poop. We'll see.

Yep, and they looked ok, but I replaced them anyways, runs EXACTLY the same.

*edit* OP - Not trying to hijack your thread, just trying to find a resolution to a problem several of us appear to be having.

I have had the same problem.... My solution , let it run for at least 30-40 sec before taking off.

I live in utah and it only does it when its like 30's outside.
