Stock block & head at 30psi and 8400rpm max. What turbo?

I'm in the market for a t3 setup that will be used for drag racing and pulls from a roll... Basically just a fast street car in a straight line. I am on a stock block and head with kelford 272's and run e85 99% of the time. I would like to keep boost at about 30psi and revs under 8400rpm.

The 6262 seems to be an awesome setup and once I build my motor will most likely go to that but I'm thinking that with only 30psi and reving to 8400 there might be better options that give me better power.. Possibly the 5857, or maybe hta3582 with small hotside? Given my limits I'm capping off at, what do you think would make a faster car on e85?

I vote 5857. 3582 is nice but i would worry with stock block and head. 5857 is a nice turbo that will make nice power, spool, and give you better peace of mind when beating on it.

why does it matter what psi your at? Youll make the same power at lower psi with the 6262 vs the 5857. Running more psi is not better if your making the same power.

I am running a regular 3582 on the stock block @ 33psi dropping all the way to 28psi on e85. I am making 530ish whp right now in the cold weather, although my 1150cc injectors are now maxed out.

My spool hits around 5500rpm, which is pretty standard. Even with my poultry 400wtq I can't get any traction in 1st or 2nd with this cold weather .

I should also mention this turbo has seen over 75K and is still boosting fine.

Why a T3??? If your going to go with a T3, I would run the 3586 HTA and keep it around 500WHP. And when you build your motor, turn up the boost and run it up to 9500+ RPM's. That way, you don't need another turbo.

Sounds to me like a stock-frame turbo would fit your needs better.

I might have hit 550whp on that pass, but my fuel system hits the ceiling right around there. I think I was running over 100% duty cycle on that pass. Damn E85 I would say an average pass for me would be more like 128-129.

The revs are what kill the stock bottom end, keep it under 8K. 7.5K would be better.

I have a 3582 on the stock block/head and run 33psi all the time. Unknown whp at 33psi but at 29 psi in the summer heat it made 538whp on a dynapack.

+1. You can hit 500whp (safe limit on stock bottom-end) with a FP Red or FP Black pretty easily on E85, or with the right parts combo and a BBK. You'll have a much wider powerband and a lot more fun street car!

Whenever you decide to build your motor, then go with a bigger turbo, or not? If I had to pick, it'd be the FP HTA3586, hands down.

For those exact numbers I would personally recommend the 86HTA. That fits everything I did with my stock block and head:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ne-3586-a.html

Trapped 130 on pumpgas. I dont mean to say this is how all of them will turnout nor how long any of them will last. I know mine lasted just fine with me beating on it and the pistons and bearings looked fine when I pulled it down after I sold my 2.0 block. However it could have just as easily kicked a rod out of the block.
