Anyone running a kelford 272/280 combo on a viii?

I'm looking to pick up some top end and wondering if anyone has had any luck with this combo? Any helpful insight would be appreciated. Tia

I know james reese on the socal boards ran kelford 280/280's & switched to 272/272's on his evo8.....not exactly what you were asking about....the top end was better with the kelford 280's, mid-range was a lot better with the kelford 272's.....

1wkdevo on socal ran a staggered kelford cam set-up...it was a give to get situation as well.

what are your goals with the car? only running on e85?

Its a sacrafice, i think the 272/272 combo is pretty good, but if your only looking to pick up power on the top end then sure this will work better for you.

Steve: If I am not mistaken, you are already running a Kelford 272i/272e cam setup, right? So, you would only need to swap out the exhaust camshaft. Is the cylinderhead p&p´ed as well?

As is, you are putting out pretty good power with your present setup(E-85, right?). So, exactly how much more power are you hoping to gain? Have you thought of tuning with adjustable cam gears to maximize topend power?

If the BBK-Full is not quite fulfilling your topend power needs, why not wait until CBRD releases the upcoming BBK-XL(?)? The new turbo is supposed to have improved topend capabilities? You should be able to just send in your present turbo for an upgrade conversion.

Aby are you saying that the Kelford 272s made more top end power then the 280s? Usually the longer duration cam will make more top end.

Or was that just a typo?

Yeah I'm currently running the kelford 272's and just looking to change the exhaust cam. As for the turbo I will also be converting to the bigger bbk as soon as Chad offers it. The goal is simply to make the car faster in a straight line both drag racing and from a roll. And yes e85 all the time.

just a typo....the 280 cams made more top end & sacrificed low end power.

sorry for the confusion.
