I'm having a power engine problem.. basically as the my evo 8 hits 3k rpm i loose power and the the rpms jump and then settle back to 3k rpm then giving me power. Its most noticeable in 3rd gear and up, but still present through all the gears. The problem seem to start after we had a cold front come through Portland a few weeks ago.

So does anybody have any ideas of what might be going on. The car has only 20K miles on it and is completely stock..

Again please help!!!

If the rpm's jump and and the mph stays the same, that'd be the clutch.

clutch dude, just happend to me. actually dropping my car off tomarrow morning at the shop..

does it do this mainly when u hit boost? if soo its deff ur clutch..

sucks bro start savingg, i was out of a car for over a month trying to save up for a new clutch and flywheel

btw! my evo only had 21,000 miles on it too! i was shocked when i found out it was the clutch

 

Well I would say bring it up to 2500 rpms then floor it, if the rpms jump with no increase in movement your clutch is shot, if not check the connection of you spark plug wires and even check your sensors, TPS, or you MAF and see if there is any problems there

 

yea clutch kits arent to cheap now a days. fill me on if this is what happened to urs too.
