Daaamn. Hope it all works out dude. This is why I basically dont trust places to touch anything.

By a pedal stop, you mean put one on the floor just behind the pedal, correct??

Hopefully they take care of you and everything works out well. As already stated QM defect rate is like 0.01%.. Ive never heard of one failing to this date until I read your story.

+1 for adjusting the clutch pedal and or doing the pedal stop. You should also make sure they shimmed the TOB correctly. It comes with a bunch of spacers to shim it properly. Good luck getting it worked out.

FWIW, i also have the QM and all of the above was done, and i have no issues at all so far.

I thought the driveability of this clutch was great. I didn't find anything hard about this clutch nor was it noisy. It had a very smooth engagement and shifting was much improved too. But then as far as the pedal stop goes, what is the actual length it should be pressed then? Because when I had this clutch, the pedal automatically stopped half way of pushing in, so I never pushed the pedal any further. Is the pedal travel distance supposed to be shorter then it already was?

I thought you only shimmed it if you were installing a rebuilt QM. We didn't shim mine when we installed it, but it was new.

Wow this is shocking to hear, I use QM for every high HP Evo we build here, never had any issues with one other than abuse. I hope it all works out for you!

I hate to say, but this sounds like installer error. If your clutch only went halfway to the floor you more than likely were driving your car with constant pressure on the throughout bearing. Which locked up your throughout bearing and therefore wore into your pressure plate fingers. Good luck with blaming it on the manufacturer.

it is only supposed to be pressed 1/4 inch past the disengagement point, per the directions....

The fluid is probably coming from the TOB. They had to revise the older TOB because the o-ring seals would fail, but it has been fixed. It does look like you’re over extending the TOB too. You need to either place a stop or readjust the clutch so it engages closer to the floor.

the teeth of the preesure plate look as if they have been over heated from the TOB. I think this failure comes from not adjusting the clutch properly, causing premature TOb failure. Plus it would help to follow the instructions of installing a pedal stop. Not installing can also have ill effects on your thrust bearing if the clutch is over stroked too far
