Does anybody out there know how much boost can a fully stock 4G63 motor can handle? And I do mean fully stock.

thanks

dumb question until you clarify fully stock. IE, does changing fuel injectors affect your opinion of a stok engine? What about intake, exhaust, IC upgrade? And still, its stupid. i would say 30 PSI is a reasonable limit, just don't detonate and you'll need a bigger turbo.

there is no such thing as a dumb question...just dumb answers. if you noticed, I repeated "fully stock"

In that case, fully stock would not have a boost controller, and thus would be the 19 psi the car can hit in stock form.

pare The 4g63 motor is a great motor. Just out of curiosity I want to know. by the way..is isn't funny how alot of guys here say that they have so and so horsepower on a stock evo but forget to mention what add-ons they put. "go figure?" what time is it in P I?

let me rephrase the question. how much boost can the 4G63 motor handle before you have to change the internals?

With a good engine management system, I'd say around 25psi. By that time you should be making about 380hp still on stock turbo and intercooler.

yeah, Ive done 28....but.....you SHOULD be making so much power at 28 or 30 PSI it breaks. If for some reason the car is not making the power it should, then you can run that high.

Without arp head studs above 24 psi is not recommended.
