Timing Belt

I did a search for timing belts and I didn't find any specific threads on it so I am sorry if this has been already discussed.

So it's time to change the timing belt I just 60k and I am looking for a replacement, I am not modding my Evo for performance any time soon maybe never. I was looking online and all the performance timing belts seem like a little too expensive for me, what about those Gates timing belts, are they any good?

I would go OEM if your not looking for performance, still a hundred bucks but obviously a very important part its worth the extra menu knowing your motor is safe. Just my opinion, good luck.

You need to change not ONLY the Timing Belt but Also the Accessory/ Balance Belts, and both the timing/Idler tensioning pulleys as well as the Water pump too. Look in the Vendor forums for package deals.

either run OEM or Power Enterprise belt. If your basically stock just do OEM..its worth the money.

Although I dont have first hand experience I'd say stick with OEM. I recall reading about people having issues with Gates belts. Something about them being too tight or something I dont exactly remember as its been a while. You really cant go wrong sticking with the OEM belt in this case.

well I guess i am going with OEM i barely spend any money on my car anyway since i dont have any performance parts on it so spending a little extra on an OEM parts seems ok. Thanks for the help guys
