one of the studs broke off when i was removing my stock turbo
they are very likely to brake off if not lubricated well (soaked)

thanks for the heads up. i bought my car used with 40,000 miles on it last year and only put 3,000 on it since then. It was "stock" but prolly had an upgraded turbo on it at some point. hopefully they come off as easy as the downpipe did.

Not really necessary but you can unplug the coil packs and crank the engine till you get oil pressure.

Also id like to get a megan manifold to maybe bypass breaking studs. The turbo has 2 studs installed already are there 2 studs on the manifold side? Sorry for a dumb post but rather save $300 on labor when i can do it myself. thanks
The problem is never getting a stud replacement, your real problem is to break them and not being able to remove the old/broken one. You need to soak that thing and perhaps leave it for hours or even over night. Use new sockets, don't try to use old sockets as this might cause the socket to slip and strip the nuts.

soak them overnight then heat them up orange when you crack them loose. heat is the most effective tool with rusty exhaust bolts.

I noticed when i checked the oil line that the gasket was torn in half. Anyone know where to get a gasket for that or can i use some kinda silicone based gasket maker for that? Im pretty sure its the oil line. its the line connected on the bottom next to the licp

Alright so after working on the turbo all day i can say it really sucked.... I had soo many problems all day long. my buddy didnt have a jack at his garage cause he forgot he let someone use it, so i used the stock jack with jackstands. i couldnt figure out how to get to the 1 bolt attached to the lower oil return line untill i took off the positive cable and heat shield off the starter. Also what was holding the turbo on after i took off the bolts to the manifold. Figured out there was a bolt from the o2 housing attached to the block. my dumb*** didnt drop the downpipe enough to see that bolt. soo if anyone swaps a turbo watch out for that. i have the new turbo on but not installed yet. i gotta wait about 2 weeks to get back and finish it. Turned out previous owner put evo 8 mr turbo back in. it had TD05-16G-10.5t on it
