These guys announced their CAI before anyone else that I know of.

"as for someone else coming out with a system that is IC water reservoir compatible, i really really doubt it. if you've ever looked in that area, there's like no space for ANYTHING. that's why no one has made one yet."

you probably got a better chance of getting hydrolock from super flooding your cyclinders with fuel then you do sucking water up through the intake.

Piece like that should make good power, with the ram air effect. Only down side I see with it is probably if you drive through a real bad flood, but then again, your car is gonna die anyway, regardless of what intake U have if U drove through one. In light rain, I doubt anything will get in, cuz of the way the piping is bent. Turbo would cook up any condensation anyway.

Anyone have a price on it yet, and is it available right now?
Doesn't matter where you put the MAF, it's about the way the air flows with the open element. Every tuner on this board that has dyno'd a car can verify that it affects the readings and leans out the car.
It's nice to see a CAI out there, only thing is that filter will get dirty pretty quickly being out in the open like that.
I am sure they did their homework on the ram air affect and it doesn't cause any issues. On a MAF car, when you have a RAM air affect and you get out of the throttle, everything says the throttle is close but because air can freely enter the MAF (Ram) it causes reading to the contrary and can cause problems. Hence the comment above about stalling off throttle.

About impossible on a FI engine, injectors are too small to produce enough fuel to hydrolock the cylinder.
Hell with hydrolock, get enough water in there and see what it does to the turbine of the turbo. Chances are in a typical hydrolock situation (driving through big puddle cause "didn't look deep), you have to get a considerable amount of water past the turbo and into the intercooler and all those pipes, which is an uphill climb anyway. Still could make a nice mess though.

I went to UR and talked with them. Nice piece of CAI but they said, we dont drive in the rain. We rarely drive the EVO anyway. Mostly the STi since we just got it. They also got the 350. The owner likes the Evo most though.
