My only concern is not only are you putting the filter right out in the elements (and possibly other grungy stuff) it also looks like it moves the MAF sensor too.. What would happen to it if it got soaked with water (Damage to the MAF??)

yah i have a feeling that's going to raise sopme issues, I took my headlight out of my eclipse once and I got so much air flow the car would stall when coasting at high speeds out of gear.... but man it felt good floored

why would it cause issues? i had a GSX with a nice homemade ramair a couple years back...car felt great all the time! just had to be careful in the rain that's all. but hell...that's just the nature of modding a car.

I like it.....but it requires removal of the intercooler sprayer reservoir Also, it looks like it would be in the way of an upper IC pipe upgrade.

i doubt that. i don't think UR would make it so that it wouldn't be compatible with their own products (eg. ic piping upgrade). i have their piping upgrade already. i'll call them up tomorrow and see what's up.

im sure if we all wait for other companies to design one, you may be able to get one that is compatible with the intercooler spray reservoir...

The cold air intake looks nice. I'm suprised no one else has one out for the car yet. Somebody said it can mess up MAF signals? I don't see how. Moving the mass air meter lower isn't going to change anything. The car doesn't know where the mass air meter sits anyway. Cold air is always better than warmer air for the car. Piece like that should make good power, with the ram air effect. Only down side I see with it is probably if you drive through a real bad flood, but then again, your car is gonna die anyway, regardless of what intake U have if U drove through one. In light rain, I doubt anything will get in, cuz of the way the piping is bent. Turbo would cook up any condensation anyway.

Anyone have a price on it yet, and is it available right now?

nice pics

but who cares. when AEM came out with cold-air intakes, they got a good response because the product worked very well. people that used them knew not to drive through big puddles of water. and if you did, and hydro-locked your motor...it's completely your fault.

this is just one of those things that come with modding the car. maybe UR's CAI isn't for everyone, but it's definitely for those that want the most out of their setup. cold air intake system just makes sense i think. forget about the intercooler, etc...cooler air means cooler air. plus the ram air effect should definitely yield some good results.

as for someone else coming out with a system that is IC water reservoir compatible, i really really doubt it. if you've ever looked in that area, there's like no space for ANYTHING. that's why no one has made one yet. everyone knew that it would result in no water reservoir. i think the benefits of having a CAI will out weigh the benefits of the water sprayer anyway. **** i barely use it. and when i do, i don't feel squat. if you really want that water sprayer, i'll try and relocate the water bottle, that's what they do with the acura RSX windshield washer bottle when installing an AEM CAI.
