Just Got My New Rear Diff...

I should preface to say I'm pretty OCD, but I just want to check -

Does this look new to you guys?















It also smells slightly of gear oil. (which is normal)

I dont know what the orange is, it's kind of speckled on the part.. looks like rust??

Also, if anyone is gonna be interested in my stock part, let me know!!

NOW the question is DID you buy it new?? If so then all these things are normal. Its not rust its oxidation prolly from humidity, since that part is steel, if it smells like gear oil its fine since it needs to be lubricated the whole time other wise it will make noise when put on.

looks new to me, just not a heavy enough coating of cosmoline from the factory to prevent rust while sitting on the shelf.
