Magnus Engine Build
It's Valentines day... I can't be wasting my time on this BS.
My suggestion is to close this thread. I've said my peace about a 1000 times over. I knew it would turn into a **** storm like this, and it's not what I wanted to do. Basically all I'm saying, is I had a bad experience with Magnus. If you don't believe me, that is perfectly fine.

I sold my old 2 litre long block so made some money back obviously.
Also I run a billet 100mm crank as well which if I recall added about 1500-2k on the price.
I think everyone, including myself, needs to take a deep breath, and relax.
We all need to realize, this motor has run for 3 years and is still running!
Marco made some mistakes, but the motor has been strong! Hell, I thought when I went nutz with mods, the motor would be the loose end. Turns out it was the Evo 6 drivetrain which was the bigger problem! I broke 3 front diffs, an output shaft from the center diff to t-case, cracked bell housing, rear diff etc. I switched to Kaaz about 1.5 years ago and all has been good since.
I have my own personal opinions of Magnus from my experience with them, but I think we should just ignore those. The facts are, it was not a mistake free build, but in the end the motor has been strong. I do not believe I was robbed. Nor should Marco. Let's ignore my opinions of how I was treated, and just look at the facts which I have just stated.

I love Evo's and I love my car. Check my youtube channel and you'll see myself and my friends are friggen nutz about Evo's... since 1995 whne my friend bought his III from the dealer down here. I love my car, and it's motor. I don't love Magnus thats for sure, but as I said, let's forget the drama and opinions and remember I don't think I've been stolen from, and then engine has been strong.
To the OP.
Magnus uses nice R&R rods... you can get them pretty much any way you like.
Magnus has a custom spec Ross piston they sell.
Magnus has a local guy make his Crankshafts on their CNC lathe
I'll be using all magnus components in my engine. The time it takes for custom parts to be made is completely dependant upon Ross, R&R, and the crank d00der.
If you order your rods after a batch has just been sent out for heat treat... you may end up waiting 12 weeks instead of 6 weeks. That's the way custom car parts are. I do fabrication... so I know ALL about things taking longer than planned.
As a automotive enthusiast there is a very simple rule you should follow... take the time you've been quoted and triple it. take the money it's supposed to cost and double it. If it takes less time and costs less than double, then you've been quite fortunate. If you're like 98% of everyone else... you'll be waiting and paying more. That's the way this industry operates the majority of the time.
Crcain,
You're such a dick and have absolutely no tact that no one will listen to you even if you are right. The way you present yourself in this forum removes all of your integrity and no one cares to hear what you have to say. So... A) stop being a dick or B) GTFO.
And thank you to the RM Evo guys for the hospitality. I had a good time and it was nice to meet you all.

RT Ernie,
It was a pleasure meeting you and hanging out with you. If you are ever back in town you can PM me and maybe we can meet up again.
Maybe we need to get Mike and Chris from ETS to come down here and hang out. We will go to a strip club maybe....talk about this thread maybe. lol.

If you'd like to insult me more, feel free, but it is what is, just insults, not facts.
Oh Crcain,
I wasn't talking to you about how long it takes to build things or how much it costs... only this part was for you....

Ya, the one up here in Westminster don't have security. Should have went there. Also, I'm not really into ColoradoEvo anymore. That's why I did not see it. If it's a forum, i'm right here on Evom.

Thanks for your informative post!

. You don't really believe this do you??If I was quoted a price on something and in the end I was told double and it wasn't my fault they can stick said goods up their *** PERIOD
Now time in the automotive indusrty is a bit different. Sometimes a shop is at the mercy of a manufacturer or other shop to source parts or goods to complete the job. This should be considered but the shop that has your car, engine, trans, etc... Should be up front about such delays so the customer is not sitting in the dark waiting to get their car on the road. Tripple the time quoted without communication is not acceptable
Oh, and I just recalled another of the distortions Marco wrote. That I am some sort of chronicly unsatisfied customer. Well hmm, ok Marco, which shops think I am so bad? I've dealt with many vendors, I'll be happy to name everyone of them, and let's see who chimes in and says I am a bad customer, mmm k?
AMS, Buschur, Norris Designs, MADevelopments, etc...

Yes I have dealt with Brandon a few times and he is one of the nicest and most genuine customers out there
I dont think calling once a week for progress report is out of order but more the norm.
Mark
