CRITICAL! help me! problem with new turbo.
i just want quicker spool which is why im getting rid of the red...i do love it though. and yeah i figured it was a bbk full but what if the previous owner swapped it with a different hotside because he needed his?
No harsh feelings. Working in the cold can def get to you and I hear ya on the college budget thing.
In answer to your last question no the hotside is specific to the custom turbine wheel that comes in the full. If you watch the video on YouTube of how a bbk is made you will understand why you can't just swap hotsides around

^^^ great!!! so what do i do lol? i have an evo 9 compressor cover and an evo 8 hotside....the actuator i am using is from an evo 8 im almost positive, but how can i tell?
There are single and dual flappers in the market. Shouldn't make a difference which one you get.
You cannot use an Evo 8 WGA on an Evo 9 cover. They are angled differently #1 and #2 they use different black turbo outlet pipes.
You cannot use an Evo 8 turbo outlet pipe on an Evo 9 cover as it will arc against the starter and blow up your battery.
For whatever reason the 100amp fusible link never blows when this happens but the battery will heat up and boil over if not explode.
Just throwing those bits out there. Use the applicable parts.
oic...i have an evo 9 j pipe on there and the actuator touches it a little. does it matter the color of the actuator? because mine is bronze/gold instead of silver like the one on my fp red
Put the arm from the WGA on the flapper and cotter pin it in. Put the entire turbo assembly into position and temporarily bolt it in place, see if the arm from the WGA hits the starter. You will have your answer on wether or not it is the correct piece. If it doesn't fit, take it out and ship it back.
If the BBK Full fits in the hotside, and it is already bolted up then you should have the correct hotside, dual or single flapper, it shouldn't matter. I think you are just going off here on the arm not reaching the flapper for the wastegate and now doubting the entire assembly. Put it together, run wastegate pressure, and drive it around lightly and see how it sounds/feels. Once you are satisfied start to run stock/elevated boost at your discretion. If there is a problem, such as a bad turbine wheel etc you will find out quick enough and thus contact your seller and tell him to f off.

Yeah, that is what TTP and I were saying, the arm for one or the other won't fit in the correct position. We can all guess as to which WGA it is, but he will really have to put it all together to make sure it fits correctly.
Twice I ordered an FP IX WGA from the twits at Lancershop for my FP Evo IX Green turbo, and twice they sent me a useless FP VIII actuator. IMO, the people at Lancershop are a peg above fecal...... at best.

I just used a ix actuator on viii turbo today, atleast I think. I had the actuator extra laying around it may have been from an viii. I honestly can't remember anymore
