Rebuild engine!low oil pressure!!!help
When you did the thermostat killer on the filter housing, did you mess with the pressure bleed off valve? The other thing that kinda looks like the thermostat killer is a pressure bleed off valve, when the oil reaches a certain pressure, It dumps the oil back into the pan instead of forcing it into the block so it sorta bleeds off a little here and there to regulate the pressure. Any chance you messed with that?
i did that without any result.
after that i removed the entire oil filter panel and changed it with an evo 7 panel used ...again without the desirable result.
id run it man. its got oil pressure just not as much as you wanted to see. if it doesn't look any better with a load on it stick a stubby shaft in it and call it a day. and jus ta side note, of the 2 engines i have seen with AMS over priced POS balance shaft deletes in them both ruined oil pumps, of 4 engines i have seen with stubbys all are fine......food for thought

Bringing this back from the dead because I searched
Installed a Tomei oil thermo killer yesterday. Is the piece I pulled out (pictured below) the thermostat or is it the pressure bleed off valve? Someone told me that theres a small piston "under the spring" that might fall off. Is the piston the thingy with a red dot in the pic below? Looked inside the assembly using a mirror and flashlight but nothing in there resembles a small piston or bleed off valve. There's just a hole 1 inch in diameter (that holds the thermostat) and approximately 1.5 inch deep then tapers to about .5 inch and I can see the inner "wall" of the other side of the assembly thru it. Haven't driven the car yet as I'm not sure if I did it right.

i think it could be the clearence between the Bearings and the crankshaft ..!
also is not bad to have this clearence in a race car because you have more oil going throw there ..
how many psi of oil do you have at 7000 rpm?
if you have 1000 rpm and 10 psi you should be fine!
