Strange humming noise after performance work...

Hey Guys,

This past weekend I had a bunch of work done including TBE, fuel pump, MBC, Intake + Piping, and tune. The car is plenty fast now and I'm enjoying it except for one noise that it has started to make and that I noticed right away when I picked her up. It sounds like a humming/siren type noise. I took a video this morning on the way to work and was able to catch the noise right near the end of the video. But that noise is like x10 while in the car in person. It sounds to me like it might be coming from the tranny or differential because when I slow down it sounds like a fire truck siren lol. I have a 2004 GSR btw. Thanks for any input you can offer!

Can't see the video at work,

But it could be your new Fuel pump, Walbro's wine pretty loudly.

I found a few threads from people that had a very similar noise and it ended up being the transfer case which sucks because that's crazy expensive to fix... Ugh, today is definitely a sad day for me indeed...

I'd suggest pulling the fill plugs on all three gear cases. I hope you don't find one empty.

hmmm now my question is... is there anyway of telling whether or not the workshop that did the work on your car took it out and thrashed the crap out of it?

I'd definitely be checking the rear diff and transfer levels.

I guess there will never be a real way for me to know for sure if they took it out and drove it hard but a lot of my buddies go to this kid and they never said anything bad about him. I dunno, I'd have to say I trust him. Although it's just crazy how this noise came on so quickly especially since it didn't do it BEFORE the work. Either way, even if I did do the fluids would that only be a short term solution and eventually I'd still have to get this transfer case replaced?
