That is pretty historical, but a true statement for most of us!

It's amazing that Exedy rates their twin disk HD for 535ftlb's meanwhile most people won't even touch them if they're making over 500whp. I ended up having to send my twin back to MAP before I even used it and paid the different for an Exedy Triple. But now I'm hearing stuff about spline wear issues.

Where do we go from here. I want to use an Exedy for their drive-ability but now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Exactly! Damn QM for not making something thats sprung! They hold the power like beasts, but arent an ideal daily driver clutch. Exedys twin is an ideal dd clutch, but they have a very narrow range of use.

Wheres the middle man

I don't think there is a reliable middle man... Sadly. I think a Triple will be okay for 25k+ Honestly if the Triple wears out really quick I'm sure Exedy would fix the spine issue for you

Yea Im sure they would help remedy a bad situation. Its just the problem with my car being a daily driver, I cant hold the car up for X number of weeks while Exedy figures out what theyre gonna do lol.

^True... One of the guys in my town has a Triple and it drives like my twin. I have only driven his car once but I couldn't tell a different beside the clutch chatter. I believe he has about 20k on the Triple right now. He delivers papers for a living and has been using his evo for the past two years on the paper route. Lots of stop and gos and has never had a problem with the triple yet. He also drives like he is in NASCAR.

One of those were my car. We had about 400tq. I say if your anywhere near 400tq go with the triple it saves you time and money from having to do the job again. I have about 15 launches and near 1000 miles on my triple. there is no differance in feel from the twin to the triple just the chatter and noted before.

hahah nice, very interesting. When I hear back from Shep Ill ask him about that revised, non-off the shelf version he mentioned as now Im leaning toward that, granted the spline wear issue is truly fixed. I really dont trust the twin going in. Id rather not make a $1,XXX mistake haha.

Anyone want to chime in with how the triples have lasted mileage wise on a daily driver?

My Exedy twin held solid until I broke the 500wtq mark. Once I went beyond that a brand new twin slipped hard on my first pass.

Now when you guys say that the only difference between the twin and triple is the chatter, which one has more chatter? Twin or triple? Also, can i just put a triple into my stock ix tranny without modding the tranny in any way? sorry if these are noob questions, im just in the same boat, trying to decide between twin or triple. Thanks

Also when talking about what comes in the conversion kit for a twin to tripple, what is the hub that has been mentioned, I just got my conversion kit for nolomitmotorsports and all it consisted of was the three unsprung discs and the two floater plates.
