I just bought my car, its basically stock right now. The guy that had it before me removed the evap shoeboc near the gas tank. Well now that its stock again, its throwing the evap vent code. .) Question is can I make a homade vent box or maybe plug some type of resistor into the plug to make it think everything is fine?

All other parts are intact and I plan on modding in a few months when - get settled in so I don't wanna pay for a tune just to get that one code to stop coming on. I'm just wanting a cheap fix so I can see if a REAL code gets thrown between now and then.

best bet is to find a local tuner and tell them the issue. It is a very simple fix to disable the code in the ecu...so they shouldnt charge much to fix/reflash the ecu

 

Very easy to disable the corresponding bit in the ECU with ECUFlash.

 

Ooooooooooor you could buy mine which has been sitting in my garage for 2 years, it has very low miles on it.
