What do I need for E85?

Hi from the UK,

I'm running an evo 9 which was mapped for E85 a while back when we were quite new to it. I have a hard wired Walbro with RC750cc injectors which we now know are too small for this fuel. The car is getting Kelford 272s and a BBK full next and I'm thinking I'd like to adapt the setup to use E85 properly - would anything else other than ID 1200-2000cc injectors be required?

The car is currently a pain to fire when cold in the morning turning for ages before it catches, is this characteristic for E85 or is it because my hardware is too puny at the mo and not getting enough fuel through?

Thanks

how cold is it out when you first fire it up? E85 doesn't do well under cold conditions. If you stay with the BBK, then 1200-1400cc will definitely be enough. Keep an eye on the knock just in case the E85 isn't as advertised. In the UK may be different than the US, but they dont regulate Ethanol as closely as they supposedly do with Gas. as long as you stay in the 450whp and under you should be good with a 255lph fuel pump. and If you plan to go bigger turbo later, you can always throw on an inline.. good luck mate..

If you ever plan on upgrading in the future I would just get FIC 2150s or ID2000s, they idle really nice and you won't need to upgrade in the future. They do come at an additional $300 premium though.

As far as cold starts go, what do you consider cranking for ages? I usually have to crank my car about 3 times for 5 seconds at a time before it catches. I turn the car completely off and wait for it to click and then turn it back on and wait for the pump to prime each time. I could probably get it slightly better, but it will never be perfect.

Its been as cold oas 15 degrees and I crank once....and then crank again and car starts right up. Don't need a double pumper for BBK full...the mpost you'll need is a Bosch 044 inline.....may not even need that
