T-case Installed Now leaking between trans and tcase

Hi newbie here posting. Just put my Shep Trans Stage 2 T-case in my 2003 lancer evolution. I just got it back today. They did a complete rebuild. When installing it went right in no prob I lubed the big o-ring. Drove it home to notice its leaking between the tcase and trans. Its leaking gear oil. Ive heard about guys putting silicone between trans and tcase where they meet but Shep Trans said no need to do that with the o-ring there. Please any help would be great.

I have/had an issue with oil leaking from the same area when I changed the transmission.

I bought a new o-ring to replace in the near future but for 2 months now it stopped leaking. So I'm thinking either it dripped out all of the transfercase oil or maybe I overfilled it and the excess was leaking out of a breather whole. I'm not even sure if its transfer case oil or transmission oil.

Are you leaking transmission gear oil or transfer case?

I would say it is that o-ring. If that o-ring has a tiny rip on the side of it or a small hole that you can't see it will leak. Or it may fell out or didn't sit the right way.

How can it fall out? It sits in that grove right? There is only 1 o-ring right? Its a big one?

comon problem, 25 cents o-ring between the TC and tranny they get pinched easy specially with all the jugling back and foward of you trying to line up the splines.

put a little RTV to hold bond the o-ring before you mate TC and tranny

Don't block the hole with sealant. These kinds of methods disgust me.

Stick it there with some low temp grease or vasoline.
