EVO VIII 2.3l shortblock from AMS

to stroke or not to stroke lol

Ok so i have done the search option and i have read alot on the 2.3l 4g63

has anyone had a shortblock from ams that didn't feel it was up to the name? Ie. engine failed after install id hate to spend 4g's on a shortblock and it last a short time. im not a big fan of racing on the streets because im the guy that always get caught, so i just dont do it.

i would like to maybe see a track day at least once.. but for the general amount of time i spend in the evo its tooling around town i do like the occasional burst of speed on a back road but nothing stupid. no drag because id be in the market for a new TC or tranny

i guess im just trying to justify a 4 thousand dollar block right now and any info on the 2.3l would help i really want the torque and with my setup now i dont really expect to make much more power as i dont plan on doing an aggressive tune.

has anyone done the 2.3l and wish they stayed 2.0l? or vis versa?

also i have meth on it now would any one recomend loosing that on a stroker?

im going to call ams and speak to them on monday just to make sure its what i want. my current mods are in my sig other than the spun rod bearing mod i did in may of 09

thanks for any and all help guys

AMS is very meticulous with their builds, you wouldnt be wrong to choose them. There are less costly options though, thats for sure.

also like i said i gonna have to call and speak with each company.

does anyone know the best person to talk to at the respective shops?

2.3L AMS built here very strong engine and very well built, I don't know if it's that AMS built it and took there time on it. I can say this little engine keep's making power and power and destroying turbo's in high boost!

Keep's on ticking!!! I beat the hell out of this engine just for the record!

OH yea one more thing 600awhp on pump 93 octane straight up no meth, no alc , no additives.

I've had 2 from them and I will never get another one. Some people have luck and some dont. If you do choose them, good luck.

"buschur magic" LOL

just excuse the BR nut riders. nothing is wrong with AMS. i believe the two shops would be about the same distance from you in KY.
