exhaust cutout.

Hey guys, local shop is has some QTP cutouts for sale and always liked the sound of the cutout but wondering on performance levels the difference. I have a straight piped 3" catless exhaust with vibrant muff on now but wondering if i'd benifit from the cutout? How many have them and can speak from experience.

Thanks in advance!

Kirk

I don't have one but from my past research of the product, I have read you will gain more hp but lose a lot of torque. I do dig the sound of a cutout though

I'm gunna be picking one up this week but can't install till the end of the month because shes in storage. But i can see the HP going up but torque going down?? Is this because of limited backpressure or whats the story? Mainly want to get it for sound pulling up to carshows and such just to showoff the kelfords rumble

if you dyno the car you will see that you really shouldn't be losing any tq it is actually impossible to lose tq and gain hp as they are directly related you may lose some pull at the bottom end that could feel like you lost tq but for the most part exhaust mods after the turbo give gains over the whole curve

Seems like it would get tedious flipping the switch to open and close it all the time.

there are ways to wire this into your sensors so that it will auto open at wot or preset throttle points then close after you have been off throttle for a set amount of time. they are cool systems i was thinking about puttting one on the IX i am going to buy with a GT works dp so that i could keep the stock exhaust and have it nice and quiet and legal for daily then open up when i floor it

you could always wire it to a pressure switch set to say 10psi. anyways, has anyone had long term luck with one? i have heard nothing but horror stories about them seizing up with carbon and stuff.
