Goodyear 4060705 Gatorback. Autozone should have it in stock.

Yeah, they don't have it at autozone. Not even listed. I even cross referenced it to a chevy impala (3.4L).

It is extremely tight. It may just be the belt I got but I know it is the correct one. I may go get a different brand just to see if it will work. I just got done doing the 60k and headwork with springs, valves, and cams so its not for lack of experience. It just seems extremely tight.

I completely agree, but even with two people and a huge breaker bar it wasnt fitting. I will try a new belt later today.

I hope so. I looked online for several different cars with the same belt, and searched the part number and it came up with nothing. I went to the store looking for an Evo and they had none listed.

I did get a serp belt from Advance Auto for 30 some odd $.

Cool, keep us updated. I'd rather use a gatorback belt. I put one on my brothers truck and it looked pretty nice as far as belts go.

The part number I referenced before can also be cross referenced to a metric part number.

P/N: 4060705 / 6PK1790 ~$30. Or you can also get it from amazon for $26.

If you've been around many supercharged cars, you will know that it doesn't get much better than the gatorback belts. Strong, quiet, long lasting and affordable - they are the belt of choice for most gearheads that overdrive their pulley's.

To the poster having trouble installing it, I've replaced this belt by myself, and it took all of 15 minutes with most of that jacking the car up and removing the tire and splashguard. IIRC I didn't need a prybar at all, just the 1/2 in socket drive to relieve tension on the spring loaded tensioner. Pretty straightforward.

Oh, and the effective length is 70.5", Outside length is 71.25". Make sure the belt you bought isn't an outside length of 70.5" or it will be too tight.
