I think at times the level of ignorance is beyond belief, I've been in this business too long and my level of patience has never been very good.

I'm not sure why you haven't learned this yet Dave, but not everybody buys things for the same reason. A racer will see your design and think "oh, that'll work good". A show&shiner will see your design and think "what an ugly POS". Two viewpoints, two markets, two products. Not everyone is out to screw you; benchmarking is standard business practices.
