APS BOV Sticking Open Please Help

my aps bov is sticking open. any aps vendors please chime in as to how to remedy this. i have tried silicon spray which works for a couple of day but that is it. seems some are using mobil 1 grease with the same result. i have tried adjust the spring pressure to no avail. also i have emailed various aps vendors with no response as to how to address this. any help appreciated.

I had a buddy with the same problem at an autox event. We found some crap got in between the piston and the wall causing the piston to develop some burrs. We roughly sanded it down to clean it up and it was fine. If you can't see the burrs you might want to disassemble the entire unit and clean it up.

Sorry...just caught the end. Seems Mobil 1 works for most but not you. Hmm. Maybe check for burrs

I didn't have to at the time, we could see the issue from the opening. You should, hopefully, be able to slide the piston out. I could be wrong in which case do what you can in the opening section.

Open the bottom. Take out the adjustment screw and push a allen key or similar through the adjustment hole and push everything out the bottom. This happened to me also. There wasn't any kind of burrs or damage. I just took it apart and regreased it with Mobile 1. It's never done it since. I take it apart and grease it once maybe twice a year.

+1 on disassembly and cleaning.

Disassembly and cleaning

1)remove the BOV from your car
2) remove 6 allen head screws
3) pry the end off
4) remove the adjustment nut and allen pin
5) push the piston out with a screwdriver
6) pay attention how the internal plate sits for reassembly
7) clean (wipe) everything throughly (don't use any degreaser or brake cleaner = destroys the viton O ring
8) apply Mobil 1 grease to the piston body and internal around the O ring and internal body
9) reassemble
9a) before installing the adjusting pin, wrap it with teflon tape
10) reinstall in your car

ADJUSTMENT:
1) start you car
2) look in the vent hole and see the piston moving (your initial start point should have the spring loose....not tight)
3) tighten the adjustment pin until the piston stops moving
4) done

Hope this helps.
