fuel pump help
i installed my walbro 255 and it does not prime when i turn the key is this normal. the car wont start but i can hear the fuel pump prime once i start to crank it. can someone please give me an explanation for this i searched but no results had the answers i was looking for. i have tried starting it alot and i cannot get it to start. the lines were empty but idk if it is just taking a long time to get fuel to the motor?
When you seated the fuel pump into the hanger, did you re-use/re-install that black crown looking piece? It sits on top of the fuel pump and "snaps" into place when you push it up into the hanger. If it didn't snap into place, the fuel will be pumping, but back into the tank and not into the lines.
Did you pull the fuse under the hood before install? You should have...but either way check it out.

everything is installed correctly and we did pull it out to double check everything and everything is good so i really dont know what it could be. i hear the fuel pump turn on when the car is trying to start and i tested to make sure the fuel pump did work so i have no idea as to why it will not work. *
I know it sounds crazy, but one of the local guys here had a dead beat walbro. It powered on, just wouldn't push any fuel. He replaced it, and the new one is fine. I guess the only thing left to try is put the stock pump back in and see if it starts up.
so after trying many many times to start i finally got it to start but it will not idle and is misfiring like it is lacking fuel, idk what is going on with this has anyone ever had this problem. everytime i start it starts and goes to about 2k rpm then it falls and tries to idle until it finally fails and stalls.
