FP Oil Line Install
In the how-to it says to use "thread sealant" for the fitting that connects to the oil filter housing. Should I use yellow teflon (yellow is for oil and chemicals apparently) or a liquid sealer like Loctite? If Loctite, which one Red or Blue, Thread sealer or thread locker.
Should anything be used on all of the other fittings in the line? Does the rubber oring that is included go on the screw in portion of the fp filter? It didn't mention this in the how to. Thanks

teflon tape works fine.. thats all i use and never had leaks. be sure not to overtorque the fitting or your housing can crack. go about 5-8ft/lbs less of what fp recommends on their faq.
Ive never had a leak there, and i dont use teflon on that area no. are you sure the oring is not torn or anything?
There is still about half the threads of the fitting showing, the pic on fp's site had all the threads "gone" into the housing. Oh man, I hope I didn't mess anything up...
it would have cracked right away.. you should be good. how much did you tighten the inline filter housing? i use open wrenches on mine.. so i dont overly tighten it, but i try to get it very snug.
The inline filter housing is very tight. Initial install it was snug, then after a few days there was a puddle in my garage. So I tightened it and today it was still leaking, not enough to drip but is leaking, so tonight I tightened it again... I guess we will see tomorrow, I didn't think i would need teflon tape, but maybe I should give it a try now...
