Question Dyno tuning time?

I'm going to install Tomei 7960,ETS tubular mani,Titek o2,GSC s1 and 1000cc injectors.I was quoted up to 6 hours for the tune at $200 an hour, this seems outrageously high to me what do you guys think.

Yeah I would look elsewhere. That seems like a pretty high price. Shouldn't take them 6 hours to tune unless they run into a lot of problems.

It usually takes me about 3 hours to tune a car from scratch, give or take an hour.

the time it takes strongly depends on whats been done to the car and what kind of condition it is in. for example, if the owner brings me a pristine evo 9 , with t bolt clamps everywhere, already did a boost leak test on it and has new plugs gapped properly, running stock ecu and stock turbo, i can tune it in about 1 hour (from scratch or from selecting from an extensive library of tunes for similiar mods).

if someone brings me a car they got from an auction for dirt cheap, don't know whats been done to it, or whats wrong with it, its taken me well over 6 hours (grand much of the time is spent trouble shooting and fixing problems). the tune is the easy part. its making sure everything else is up to par for the tune. boost leak tests, oil leaks, plugs, exhaust leaks, CELs, all that stuff should be taken care of before tuning.

if you have a perfectly built 2.4L with a huge turbo wanting a few different types of tunes, the tuning aspect can take a number of hours even if nothing goes wrongs.

so moral of the story: before putting your car on the dyno, make 100% sure your ready to be on the dyno. cause at 200 dollars an hour, it becomes very expensive to fix vacuum lines that pop off.
