Ryu how much longer is the IX first than the VIII? I'm looking at putting the 4.11 final in during the summer and the IX first gear. I have a VIII Tranny.

Evo VIII @ 7000rpms= 39.79mph @8000rpms= 45.47mph

Evo IX @ 7000rpms= 41.84mph @8000rpms= 47.81mph

Evo VIII w/ 4.11 final @7000rpms= 43.81mph @8000rpms= 50.12

Evo IX w/4.11 final @7000rpms= 46.1mph @8000rpms= 52.69mph


Personally I would use an Evo8 1st gear with a 4.11 final drive, but that's just me.

Ya I agree. 50+mph in First is a little more than I was wanting. hahaha

I hope to have my car ready for the track this season. Still a few more things that needs to be done before she sees action. I guess you saw I'm building the motor now? I didn't want to push the stock motor as far as you. I needed to sell it so I could use that money towards my build.

I will have to sit on it for a bit. I want to see the car that already has it and then go for a spin in it and see what the difference is.

Like I said I am looking for that off the line cruising around town gearing.

I just had the 4.11 gears installed in my IX and my motor is 2.3 with 10.5:1 running 255/40/17's and its awesome. 1st gear is much more useable now and highway cruising in 5th is much more liveable now much like 6th in the MR not spinning 3500rpm at 80mph any more I wouldn't use the 4.11 unless your making over 400tq

shep built my VIII tranny with 1st-4th gear evo VIII and 5th evo IX and 4.11 final and i love it.

Had Shep install the 4.11 in my trans a few weeks ago, really like it on the highway now, massive top speed holy cow!
