I noticed something interesting yesterday, my walboro started whining wierdly at a stop light, where it whines with a higher and lower note every other sec, and simultaniously my volt gauge fluctuates from 12-14v. however, if i press on the gas a bit, the noise becomes constant and the gauge would read 14v.
I do have a mini battery kit on, and i also encounter the known noise that some of the ix'es make at cold start ups.

for that noise, I did go to the dealer and had them replace my serp. belt. but it didnt help eliminating the noise. however, the mitsu tech there. did mention that it could be due to my mini batt, in which the alternator is working harder at starups to recharge the batt. I will try to get a vid. sometime to show u guys what iam talking about.

any idea of why this fluctuating happening?

Bad ground maybe something to try before you blame the alt or batt

 

Go to autoparts store and have them test your charging and electrical system. It's free and will tell you if you have a dead cell in the batt, bad diode in the alt, etc. From the sounds of it, I'm guessing you've got a bad diode in the alternator.

Yeah that sounds like the alt regulator may be going bad.
